It all began with the desire to wear pearls without having to be headed to a wedding or formal event. One day I ran into a friend of mine that was wearing a necklace using both leather and pearls together and I absolutely fell head over heels with the idea. When I couldn't find anyone that I could purchase one from, I decided to try to make one myself.  Wearing the pieces that I had designed for myself created interest from others and brought about requests for purchasing my designs. Opening my online store has been the best way to show all of my designs and make them available to all that are interested.
The wonderful thing about this business is that it isn't work to me. I always look forward to being able to sit down with my jewelry components and see what develops.

About me:
I am a certified Gemologist with the Gemological Institute of America and have been in the jewelry industry for approximately 30 years.  I have been on the retail and wholesale side of the business as well as owning my own brick and mortar store.  
After becoming a wife and Mommy, I decided to be a stay at home Mom and work from my home and created Coastal Creations to share my ideas and designs.
About the products:
My background in the jewelry industry and my education in Gemology has created in me the need to be sure that I offer the best quality possible.  I use only cultured freshwater pearls and mostly with AA quality or better.  All of the leather is genuine.  I personally hand select all charms and pendants to ensure quality and character.  The sea shells and oysters are all hand picked by me from right here in the gulf coast of Florida.  Every shell and piece of beach glass that you see in the designs has been hand drilled.  As I am continually searching for new components to add to my designs, you will see new designs added regularly.
